Kompaktor
is a registered trademark of Hosokawa Bepex GmbH.
Fine disperse bulk materials are compressed to flakes or briquettes
by roller presses, the so-called Kompaktors®.
If smooth or profiled rolls are used, this process is called
compaction. The flakes produced by compacting can
subsequently be crushed and screened in order to turn them into
dust-free granules with good flowing properties and an enhanced
bulk weight.
The applications for Kompaktors are versatile and
range from high-quality pharmaceuticals to multicomponent fertilizers.
Granule characteristics:
Good
flowing properties and therewith good dosing properties
Enhanced
bulk weight
Variable
particle sizes
Low energy
consumption
Low heating
Dust-free
Repeatable
process
Application areas:
Pharmaceutical
Industry
Chemicals
Minerals
and Metals
If press rolls with moulds are used, the process is called briquetting.
Here, hard, abrasive resistant briquettes with a high density
are produced by charging high pressure.
Multiple product shapes and sizes are possible, e.g.:
pillows
almonds
sticks
Whether chemical products, minerals, refractory materials or
metal powders are concerned, our machines press them into briquettes
with an optimum size and form as well as with a high density. |
